Creative Electronics For All (In-Person) – EVENT TICKETS
This is a three-session class where each participant will build a working synthesizer that is theirs to take home and continue experimenting with and building upon. The classes will cover the basics of working with electronics including how to read a schematic, identify components, prototype an idea, troubleshoot and stay safe while doing it. We will be building a few different circuits including an oscillator, sequencer, and filter (these are yours to take home at the end of the class). Space is limited. No prior knowledge of electronics is necessary. Proof of vax required. Masks optional.
Each session is a three-hour long (noon-3pm), in-person, hands-on class held in our humble workshop in Brooklyn, NY (East Williamsburg to be exact) and taught by STEM Modular founder Wes Marcarelli.
~~These classes are priced on a sliding scale basis – the lower priced options are limited and on a first come basis. This sliding scale is intended for folks who are underrepresented in STEM fields, instrument manufacturing, and electronic music production. This includes women, people of color, and LGBTQIA+ folks, especially those with genuine financial need and a committed interest in the coursework. Tier 1 is for the person who is highly motivated but can only afford the material costs. Tier 4 is priced comparably to similar courses; it is for the person who would be taking this course regardless of sliding scale and wants to support accessibility for others. Tiers 2 and 3 are for those who fall somewhere in between. We appreciate all support and hope that everyone will find a welcome seat at our table (or workbench). Thank you!~~
